Saturday June 25, 2011 ~ 8am update |
| The entire valley is a raging river! Water is up to 1559.5 and could come up another 3 feet. Broadway is still closed and crews are working frantically to keep up with erosion on the levees. 83 bypass is still open and is the main artery now for north and south traffic. Water on the north just below our house has surrounded Little Flower Church. The university has a dyke protecting it on the south. | ||||||||||||||||||

Friday June 24, 2011 ~ Noon Update |
Lake Darling is releasing 22,000 cfs and on the way up! Water is not simply overtopping the levees it will soon be overtopping homes. |
Friday June 24, 2011 ~ 7am |
Water is over the top of levees this morning and filling in the valley. We are at 1556.73 right now but that will change soon. Releases could go as high as 29,000 cfs out of Lake Darling soon. 1564.5 is a real possibility by tomorrow. Compare the pictures below to yesterdays taken at the same time. This morning there is a heavy sense of loss for so many. Minot is essentially divided in half at this time due to bridge and road closures. Hwy 83 bypass is open but traffic is literally miles long. See yesterdays photos at bottom of page for comparison |

Thursday June 23, 2011~ Evening Update |
This morning’s predictions are old news. We now are facing much more water, much sooner. By noon tomorrow we could have an increase of 4 feet. Homes are being flooded now. 4 more feet will only add to the dilemma. Thankfully we have had some early notice and over 11,000 have evacuated. No solution for homes and property and at this point none will be found. |
